Scottish Metal Band DARK FUSION Competes In 'Rock Star Lottery' Contest

Alexandra Hunt of icLanarkshire.co.uk reports that Airdrie, Scotland, United Kingdom-based heavy metal band DARK FUSION could be on their way to the big time.

They have been placed in the top 20 in the first round of a worldwide Internet music contest — with a whopping £1.5 million (approximately $2.75 million) record deal as first prize.

DARK FUSION are the only Scottish AND only rock band to make it into the top 20 of the "Rock Star Lottery" contest organized by music producer Stephen Pitcher.

The metal band are already catapulting their way up the "Rock Star Lottery" leader board, and at the time of going to press they were number eight out of the 650 bands in the competition.

The future of the band is already looking promising for the four-piece rockers after they recently played a gig at Barfly in Glasgow — and were quickly moved up to headline after playing their soundcheck.

Lead guitarist Robert Farmer who lives in Airdrie High Street along with bassist Chris McLaughlin said: "We are excited about the competition, and we have also just found out that we have been asked to attend the launch party of the Rock Star lottery in Manchester at the end of the month with a two-day record session.

"We will also be picked up by a tour bus in Glasgow taking us all the way to Manchester.

"We are really chuffed. The fact we have been invited down is great, we are the only Scottish representatives."
